Strap Installation Guide — The Nakshara
Installation Guide

How to fit your Nakshara strap

Installing a watch strap takes about two minutes and needs no tools beyond a spring bar tool — which we recommend keeping in your watch box. Here's exactly how to do it.

You'll need

  • A spring bar tool (or thin flathead screwdriver)
  • Your Nakshara strap (with quick-release spring bars fitted)
  • A soft surface to rest your watch on

Time

  • About 2 minutes
  • Both strap halves are identical in process

Removing the old strap

Step 01

Place your watch face-down on a soft surface

Lay the watch on a microfibre cloth or soft pad so the crystal doesn't scratch. This also gives you easy access to both lug gaps where the strap is held in place.

Keep the crown pointing away from you — this keeps the watch stable and gives you the most comfortable angle to work at.

Step 02

Locate the spring bar in the lug gap

Look at the gap between the lug and the strap end. You'll see a thin metal bar (the spring bar) spanning the gap — it has small pins on each end that compress inward and hold the strap in place.

There are two spring bars per strap — one at the top lug, one at the bottom lug. Remove both to free the old strap.

Step 03

Compress the spring bar pin with your tool

Insert the forked end of your spring bar tool into the gap between the lug and the strap end. Hook it onto the small pin on one end of the spring bar and push inward to compress the pin. The strap end will pop free of that lug.

Apply gentle, steady pressure — you only need to compress the pin by 1–2mm. Pushing too hard can scratch the lug or damage the spring bar tube.

Step 04

Identify the long and short strap halves

Your Nakshara strap comes in two halves. The long half (with the adjustment holes) attaches to the bottom lug — the one further from the crown. The short half (with the buckle) attaches to the top lug, nearest the crown.

Hold the strap up to the watch before fitting to confirm orientation — the buckle should end up on the side closest to the crown.

Step 05

Compress one spring bar pin and slide into the first lug

Hold the strap half in position under the lug. Using your spring bar tool, compress the pin on one end of the spring bar slightly, insert the compressed end into the lug hole, then guide the opposite pin into the hole on the other side. The bar will spring out and click into place.

You'll hear and feel a small click when the spring bar seats correctly. If it doesn't click, the pin hasn't fully engaged — lift the strap end gently and try again.

Step 06

Repeat for the second strap half and check

Follow the same process for the second strap half. Once both halves are fitted, gently tug each one to confirm it's securely seated. Then flip the watch over and check the strap sits evenly on both sides of the case.

If the strap looks uneven, the spring bar may have seated slightly off-centre. Remove it and re-seat — it should sit flush and level against both lugs.
