Cut and finished by hand in our Pune atelier, each strap is carefully shaped, stitched and edge-finished to preserve the clean profile and texture of the leather. Its refined grain works equally well with a classic dress watch or a more contemporary timepiece.

The first number is the lug width (mm). The second is the buckle end width (mm).
The outermost, strongest layer of the hide — left completely unaltered to preserve the natural grain, pores, and markings. The only layer that develops a true patina over time. Used in our most premium calfskin straps.
Created by lightly sanding the top surface of full grain leather to remove natural imperfections. Smoother, more uniform, and highly durable. This is our most widely used leather — the foundation of the Nakshara collection.
The underside of the hide, split from the top grain layer. Has a characteristic soft, napped texture. Used in our suede strap range — known for exceptional comfort from the very first wear and a relaxed, matte aesthetic.
A general industry term for leather made from lower hide layers, heavily corrected and coated to look uniform. Less durable and does not age well. We do not use genuine leather in our straps — but understanding it helps you appreciate the difference in what we do use.
The innermost layer of the hide — a loose, fibrous structure not used as a finished surface. At Nakshara, we select hides with a dense, tight fibre structure throughout, which directly determines how well a strap holds its shape over years of wear.
